It's safe to say that I love going to the movies, hasn't always been the case as it started maybe sometime last year. And I started as seeing them as double features. Waiting for two movies to be out at the same time so I can watch them back to back like Barbenheimer but a lot more lame, or perhaps niche.

As you can see I didn't go to many movies last year, I thought I had seen more and maybe I did and the tickets were just lost to time. Here we see combos like Freaky Friday 2 and Weapons, Superman and Fantastic Four: 1st Steps, Megan 2.0 and Karate Kid Legends, How to Train Your Dragon (live action) and 28 Years Later, and finally, Snow White and A Minecraft Movie. I also remember seeing three in one day, Predator: Badlands, Now You See Me Now You Don't, and Five Nights at Freddy's 2. That last movie being the spectacular movie I saw four times in theatres and loved every single viewing of it.

Going to the movies on a regular basis has become my escapism. A part of my routine that I dearly love, I feel the worries dissipate as soon as I step foot into a movie theatre. It's like a home but a public space where strangers can come in at any time, how fun!

That of course, does not mean that I have great taste in movies. If it entertains me I enjoyed the experience. The only bad experience I had in recent memory was Death of Robin Hood because that movie was boring as shit and he was such an awful person he should have died sooner. I mean he was a fucking serial killer, and he's killed kids too, maybe so many kids that he's lost count!! Start of the movie he shoots an arrow through a kid's head and I guess kid got lucky to survive enough to walk home, but still died anyways. And then we find out he burned a woman's husband AND KIDS **ALIVE** and she later is seen like giving him an easy death his head is in his lap and stuff like... He deserved to have hot nails hammered into every inch of his body, have his fingernails ripped off, have his skin peeled off, rip his eyes out, and on and on and on. ANyways mini-rant over.

I don't play about being on time. At the Gisborne Odeon theatre I need to be at least half an hour early so I can secure my preferred seat. Which is the back middle seat for the big and small cinema room, and about middle of three rows from the back for the mid-size ones. Luckily with Hoyts (Lux) I don't have to worry about that cause I can book tickets, although I would still like to be half an hour early anyways so I can enjoy the ambience of the theatre and relax. This naturally leads to how I MUST get my movie ticket as soon as possible for every movie so I can secure my preferred seats.

It's really nice having people to see movies with now, and since I have a group of friends there will probably be at least one of them to see a movie with. Like, Zhyrra doesn't like horror, and that's fine because I have other friends who like horror movies! I wanna see a rom-com (unlikely but could happen)? Then I invite Azzedine! Or just the group chat in general. For the three guys I don't really know their taste in movies that well to know what kind of movies they'd wanna see. But for Preston I am inclining more towards horror and action. For Daniels... musicals?? But movie musicals and like live production musicals may be different and I may have just insulted him there. For Max... IDK. But I am inclined not to invite him anyways due to his preference for normal seats over Lux seats. Preston seems to have no issue with Lux and #lovethat. Oh and expect to be harassed about buying your movie ticket if we have movie plans, especially if it's Spider-man like big movies we need to buy the tickets ASAP!!!!

I will eventually do a movie recommendation post like Preston, but right now I'm thinking more about a show recommendation post. Excited to see lots of movies with you all!!! :D

    1. Close to a rom-com which I am planning to see this year is Focker-in-Law. Starring Ariana Grande and Skyler Gisondo as a couple. But it seems to be more about the guy's dad not approving of Ariana's character and having a comedic fued. Sooooo we can rewatch Wild Child, and that's the only romcom I know! :)

  2. THATS A LOT OF TICKETS, MORE THAN IVE HAD IN MY LIFE. also isnt robin hood a good guy why the hell is he just straight up murdering people? is this like winnie-the-pooh horror movies that dropped? (if im remembering) anyways generally I just like movies that are either thought provoking or extremely mind numbingly good. so either super profound and deep or genuinely just straight cool shit on the screen for no reason, but those two are hard to come by

    1. Those tickets are light work my monthly movie quote (in cinemas) is 3 movies. Unfortunately I haven't been on top of keeping my movie tickets but it will be a priority next year. Death of Robin Hood does indeed twist the idea of Robin Hood and make him into this old idk vagrant serial killer, it was awful, utter garbage that starred Hugh Jackman. As for the movies you like... that sounds hard to know before actually watching the movie. But I think I would recommend 'They Will Kill You' and it came out this year!

    1. I'll invite you whenever I have the 20,000 rewards points necessary for a free LUX seat. And I would NEVER choose between you and a recliner chair! I don't even use that function. I would choose the three-course meal that gets delivered during the movie over you, especially the biscoff cheesecake sundae. Something you could not appreciate last time because you fell asleep. Also I'm not good at reading, or reading people, so tell me!
